The Marcel Sweater

I have been trying to simplify my wardrobe lately, buying only key pieces that I can style in various ways. This Marcel Sweater from the cult favorite French brand Sézane is the perfect example of a wardrobe staple that can be dressed up or down, depending on my mood. To illustrate my point, I styled the same sweater in three totally different ways. Read More »

Venice Blues

One of the best things about visiting family in California is getting to dress down – like way down. I spend most of my days there in flip flops, a bikini, and some appropriate cover up, and no one blinks an eye! I picked up this street-ready caftan and was ready to go anywhere (with the addition of a few upscale accessories if needed). Read More »

Cherry Bomb

I love to wear barely there slip dresses in summer, especially when they feature flouncy ruffle details like this one does.  The cherry print fabric is an added bonus – just the right touch of whimsy juxtaposed with a sexy, ultra-feminine silhouette. Read More »

True Blue

Denim on Denim is one of my favorite trends this season, mostly because it takes the guess work out of dressing. It’s also a fresh alternative to that all black look that tends to be my go to pretty much every season.  Read More »

This pretty marigold dress from Samsoe and Samsoe that I found at Lynn Louisa in Georgetown is the perfect example of a knit dress that should be in everyone’s summer wardrobe. That bold color is an eye catcher that looks particularly good on tan skin, and I love the subtle stripes that give the dress a sporty vibe. Read More »

A Peak at Preakness

Last week, my husband and I attended the Preakness Stakes as guests of the Stronach Group, the owners of the Pimlico race course. I have always enjoyed watching horse races on television (especially in 2015 when American Pharoah won the triple crown at the Belmont Stakes), but have never actually attended one in real life, so this was a big treat. I have to admit that I was just as excited to see the fashion, and of course, the hats that guests would be wearing, as the horses (because let’s be honest, millinery opportunities are few and far between these days unless you’re a member of the Royal Family) .  Read More »

Three Ways to Style a Floral Wrap Dress

I’m a sucker for a good wrap dress, and I have been meaning to add some “floral”  prints to my wardrobe. I came across this style from Just Female in the window of one of my favorite D.C. shopping destinations, Lynn Louisa, and had to have it.  It’s not only pretty, but functional, as it can be styled in so many fun different ways!
