Is there anything more girly than a tea party in a pink cake shop? Peggy Porschen on Elizabeth Street in Belgravia, London, has got to be the prettiest place on earth to host one, which I did on my recent visit to the city (much to my son’s chagrin – he was less impressed with all of the pink details than me). In putting this outfit together I was thinking, “What would Kate do?” My answer started with a pretty confetti colored tweed blazer that I picked up earlier in the week.
I love tweed blazers, especially paired with denim and tees to keep the look fresh rather than stodgy (a classic French girl trick). This particular blazer doesn’t seem to be available in the U.S., but I’ve linked similar styles here, here, here, and here). My go-to base layer is most often a marinière, and this is the one that I usually reach for.
I’ve been wearing these jeans a lot lately because they seem to go with just about everything. They are also super comfortable, and I love the details on those hems. My favorite Chanel sling-backs (similar style here), Gucci bag, and oversized sunnies elevate the look and keep it lady-like.
Mixing styles, textures, and colors within the same palette is one of my favorite tricks, and I love the way this outfit goes so well with the ultimate fashion accessory – a pink background!
